www.berryhillstudio.comBiography:

John's career began at the age of 14 playing drums in his fathers big band, but at the age of 20 he changed to bass guitar, and with singer/guitarist Dave Edmunds formed the group Love Sculpture, and soon had their first hit with "Sabre Dance" which reached the # 2 spot in the charts. This was followed a few years later with the massive worldwide hit 'I hear you knocking'. Since then he has had several parallel careers; as a session bass player, recording and performing with name acts, as a solo performer with United Artist and Albion Records, as a producer working for majors and indies as well as independently finding and developing promising new acts for major labels, as a member of the Rockfield studio band Airwaves which had a mega deal with A&M records and chalked up 2 top 100 albums in the USA, and as a songwriter with over 200 covers and many hit singles around the world.

John personally engineers everything that is recorded at Berry Hill, and brings all this experience to bear in his work here. His philosophy is to treat every track as a single and go for a hit. If the artist has other ideas, that's OK. His role, as he sees it, is to try to give the artist exactly what they want.
