'Baby Beware' Video Shoot A Great Success

Shawn would like to thank the Devil Angels for making his video shoot a success. The shoot took place at The Martello Tower Restaurant in Clacton-on-Sea, a 19th Century fortification built during the Napoleonic war, and on location in London on Friday, 24th November and Sunday, 26th November. The pre edit footage looks stunning. Shawn and the vixens really have a great time frollicking at their medieval banquet and around an old disused church - very Hammer Horror indeed. We look forward to seeing the finished result.

Shawn Mentioned On BBC Essex Radio

Shawn was mentioned on BBC Essex Radio on Friday, 25th August. He was having a relaxing day at the Clacton Air Show admiring the Red Arrows and other breathtaking air displays, when his song 'I Drove Up In My Cadillac Car' was aired as a birthday surprise for Shawn's dad Arthur, who has written the lyrics, and who was 66 that day. It was a total surprise for Shawn, too, initiated by his family. The air show broadcast went out to over 100,000 guests at the show as well as all over Essex on medium wave.

Shawn Back In The Studio

Shawn is going to spend most of August in the studio recording new material with The Dominators. We have had some sneak previews already and can tell you that the new album will be a cracker. Gig At The Ritz Video Previews Up Online

The gig at the Ritz ballroom on Saturday was a great success. It was a brilliant night and Shawn sang two songs, 'Roll Over Beethoven' and 'High Heel Sneekers'. Thanks a lot to Colin Paul And The Persuaders for their friendliness and support, and special thanks to Martin from the Dominators, also bass guitar in the Persuaders, for arranging it all. We would also like to thank Rick for his great camera work. Altogether a very successful night. During the day before the show, Shawn did an impromptu jam session with Martin and Jeff from the Dominators which we were lucky to catch on film. Gig On Saturday, July 8th

Shawn is making a guest appearance at the 'Colin Paul And The Persuaders' gig at the Ritz Ballroom, Brigghouse, near Leeds, on Saturday, July 8th. Shawn is going to sing 3 songs on the night. Shawn Teams Up With Colonel Robert Morris

Shawn has just teamed up wit Colonel Robert Morris, master drummer and songwriter from Memphis. He's inducted in the Rockabilly & Country Halls Of Fame for his contribution to original Rockabilly music in Memphis. Shawn and Colonel are working together on a very interesting song collaboration. Shawn feels very privileged to write with one of the great and original guys of Rock'n'Roll.

Shawn teams up with 'The Dominators'

Shawm is teaming up with 1st class Rock'n'Roll band 'The Dominators'. They are a new addition to Kissy Music. Their motto is 'Maximum Rock'n'Roll' and these guys mean it! Influenced by the great Rock'n'Roll & Country sounds from the 70's, they have just recorded their debut album 'Redemption Road'. Welcome to The New Website

Here it is at last, the new look website. It's been long in the making, but we think it has all been worth it. A lot of research has gone into this site, especially the Members Area has been totally updated with rare videos, MP3's and photos from Shawn's early days added. The members log in is still the same and you will all continue to receive your newsletters as usual. The interface is much easier to navigate and pages should load quicker.

Shannah CD Launch Party A Storming Success

Shawn has just returned from Holland where he performed at the CD launch party of Dutch Country singer and good friend Shannah. The afternoon was a storming success. Music was provided by Big Wheel, a great swingin' Country band, who have also recorded most of the songs on Shannahs album 'Don't Move', Of Course, Shannah's regular backing band and a brilliant Country/Rock'n'Roll outfit in their,own right, W. Ox, Shawn and, of course, Shannah. Shannah and Shawn duetted on 'Haystack Life' with BigWheel playing. As most of you know, 'Haystack Life' is Shawn's song and Shannah has recorded a brilliant cover version. Later in the day, Shawn performed a solo spot backed by Of Course and he had the house rockin'! Shawn was pleased to see fans from years ago again, who had been at the Explosion Rockets gig in 2002, as well as greeting many new fans. All being well, Shawn will be going back to Holland next year for some songwriting and recording collaborations and gigs. 'Dank u well alle mal' as the Dutch say.

Shawn Visits His Family In The Westcountry

It was a lovely suprise for Shawn on his birthday to hear from his long lost cousin Nicki Darling-Finan. It means a lot to him and he spent a day to remember with Nicki, Kevin, Erin, Bink and dear little Peg, their adorable Jack Russel. Nicki is a successfull writer of Cornish History books and Kevin is a successfull publicist, Nicki coming from Shawn's family side of Jack Rowling. Nicki has two books currently avaliable entitled 'Camborne: A Photographic History Of Your Town' and 'Images Of Bygone Falmouth'. Both are fascinating and give an insight into Cornwall, Shawn's home county. W.H.Smith stock both titles. You can buy both books HERE. He is proud of them all and loves them very much (It's such a talented family).
They are hoping to get help to restore some of Henry Scott Tuke's paintings and any help is always appreciated for funding of the restoration project of these great works of art. You can read about Henry Scott Tuke HERE. Jack Rowling, Shawn's great great grandfather, was a favourite subject of Tuke and Elton John is one of many to have Tuke's art in his collection.
Shawn can't wait to see his new family again very soon.
Erin and Bink, the two little ones, are also very talented and both play instruments. Keep up the good work girls!! Just never give Shawn a Saxophone in a hurry....:)

The 'In The Hills' album has had a great review from professional Rock journalist Dmitry Epstein. He has written books on Rock Greats such as The Doors, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. He has interviewed greats such as Nazareth, Jethro Tull, Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Procol Harem and Smokie. Here is what Dmitry says about the Album:
'This cat knows what a good lick is.
The best English 'country boy' nods approvingly.
Think rockabilly's dead and be proved wrong, as there's at least one young fella who's familiar with the magic of Barbarella to sing about her with a classic slap echo, equally classic rock 'n' roll set of lyrics and a classic "Brown Sugar" lead-in. Pitching himself somewhere near Eddie Cochran, Plymouth's own Shawn Harvey sounds like he's having the time of his life. "I Drove Up In My Cadillac Car" gently pulls the listener in and takes him for a ride, so comfortable alongside Shawn's unpretentious, boy-next-door's vocals and scintillating guitar lines. Half of the tracks here are graced by the great Albert Lee's presence, which is rather shadowy as Harvey's competent at six-string end himself. When some blues shape up "Baby I'm Gonna Leave You Soon", they ram it all home, even though the prevailing boogie pace, most captivating in piano-driven "Howdy Judy", feels a tad tedious after a while. Fortunately, the album sounds a bit raw, and that's where its allure lies, in this authentic pre-Fabs rock. Missed that? Run in the hills, then, where a new hillbilly cat's playing.

New Songs And Plans For 2006

This last week Shawn has penned seven new songs, and there are plans for the second album for next year. Out of these numbers there are several great new Rock'n'Roll tracks with that good time feel. 'Wicked Wicked Ways' is a catchy upbeat tune with a Creedence Clearwater tinge, 'She's a Hooker' has a US Rock/Fogerty groove, and 'Cowboy Fetish' talks of a guy who loves his boots a little too much. 'Lonely Ads' tells of a guy searching for love and 'Blue Yonder' has a Chris Isaak haunt...'Come let's play in blood Rain...'. Shawn's plans are to make the second album next year an even better one in your collection. There are going to be some more videos and also a DVD, several singles from the 'In The Hills' release starting with 'Cash On Delivery' B/W 'Baby I'm Gonna Leave You Soon' featuring Albert Lee.
So an exciting time to look forward to.

'Without Your Love' Video Shoot

Shawn has just filmed a Video for 'Without Your Love' the ballad track from the 'In The Hills'album. It has a really nice feel to it and compliments the song, very simple, just Shawn and his Shine guitar. The video has been monochromed to give it a great look! It'll shortly be uploaded to the net.

'In The Hills CD Launch A Fantastic Night

Thanks to all who joined us at the launch of the 'In The Hills' Album.There was a fantastic bunch of people and it was also lovely to see top steel player B.J.Cole there. B.J has a great new album out entitled 'Transparent Music' and be sure to keep up to date with his shows at his website www.bjcole.co.uk. Present was also Roy Williams from legendary Rock 'n' Roll label Nervous Records. Shawn was thrilled to meet him on the night and they enjoyed talking throughout the evening.
Roy has done Rock'n'Roll proud through years of hard work and still is very much at the forefront. Shawn was also joined by his lovely American waitresses Adrienne and Antoinette, they kept the guests happy all evening and worked endlessly with their fantastic acting. 'Jess Duke' was courtesy of the lovely Nicole Freeman-Wright, a very talented actress who has many credits to her name starring in many TV programmes. Shawn's good friend and talented singer/actress/presenter Colé Van Dyk was there and it really made Shawn's night. She has a host of credits from TV to vocal and live work and in the near future Shawn will be working with her. Paul from Studioeveryone, a top photography agency who have done work for the likes of Top Gear took some fantastic photos on the evening. A Lovely Birthday Surprise

Shawn had a wonderful surprise today for his birthday from his dear friend Lory. She is a fantastically gifted graphic artist and she sent Shawn a fantastic 3D portrait ofhimself, something Shawn really treasures a lot. To The People Of New Orleans, Louisiana And Mississippi

Shawn sends the courageous people of New Orleans his encouragement in their tough times and hopes that their spirit shines through to re-build the great place.
On a personal level he hopes to hear from his dear friend Janessa Dawn (voice over on 'Wild Wild Woman' jingle) and Milton, her boyfriend. He has had no news due to the phone network being unavailable in New Orleans. The 'In The Hills' CD has just come back to us from pressing, it is soon to be avaliable for you and if you would like an early copy which Shawn can sign before it is officially avaliable in September then please email us for an advance copy.
At the moment we are in talks with a well known mainstream distributor/retailer. More news when it is confirmed.
Some more videos are planned to be filmed for the CD release and also a DVD of all of Shawn's videos in the near future to co-incide with this.

C4 TV Competition

First of all, we would all like to say a HUGE thank you to all of you fans who have been voting and supporting Shawn.
Shawn is really happy to have so many true and loyal fans and friends around the world and he would like to thank in particular Julie, Dennie, Rick, Alyn, Bojana, Christine, Charlotte, Silvia, Kimmie, Mark, Naz, Betsey, Velma, Bea, Katiuska, Ingemar, Arthur, Alex, Yvonne, Andrew, Lore, Rachel, Claudia, all their friends and family who helped and also all on the Shaky message board. Their efforts were enourmous and untiring. Too many people to mention, and many Shawn doesn't even know in person, but thanks to all!!!
With regards to the competition results, Channel 4 have by now changed their deadlines twice and have as yet not announced any winners. Shawn has just returned from talks with Oliver from Shine Guitars at the London Guitar show 2005. It was a great event and Shawn also managed to talk to Jerry Donahue (Fairport Convention and currently The Yardbirds). He presented Jerry with his newest album 'In the Hills'. Crisis Open Christmas At The Millenium Dome

Shawn is proud to announce that he will be appearing for the homeless charity Crisis this Christmas. It's a worthwhile cause and they do a lot of good, especially at this time of year. The venue will be the Millenium Dome, Greenwich, dates t.b.c. Here is the official Crisis press release:
'Dome inspires homeless people at Christmas
10/12/2004
Crisis Open Christmas will take place in six venues around London this year from 23 to 30 December. The main venue will be at the Millennium Dome in Greenwich.This year Crisis, the national homelessness charity, will be launching its ‘Be Inspired’ area at the Dome. Alongside basic medical and healthcare services homeless people will be able to take part in workshops from plumbing to IT and art to basic numeracy.
Shaks Ghosh, Chief Executive of Crisis said: “Giving warmth and comfort is great. But it is not enough to move people out of homelessness. We need to give people the confidence and skills they need. The Dome was designed to be a building that inspired people. This Christmas it will inspire homeless people to rebuild their lives.
This year Crisis will be increasing its efforts to connect homeless people to courses and training in the New Year, including those at the Crisis Skylight activity centre,
which runs year round.'

Mill Hill Recording Session With Albert Lee on 30/11/04 & 01/12/04

Shawn has just returned from the recording studio with a set of fantastic new songs. He has recorded 5 of his favorite own Rock'n'Roll songs with Country guitar legend Albert Lee. It was a memorable day, and the studio was rockin'! It was a live recording session, with Shawn on rhythm guitar, Albert Lee on lead, Richard Blanchard from the Catpack/Cathouse Creepers, Shawn's good Rockabilly friend, on drums, Silke, Shawn's manager, on bass guitar, and Boz Boorer, ex Polecats, current producer and musical director of Morrissey, on accoustic guitar, backing vocals and production. Details Of Video Shoot On November 6th Confirmed

On November 6th, Kissy Music will be filming a live video to Wild Wild Woman at the Virginia Creepers Club  in London. Here are the details.
Venue: The Water Rats Theatre, 328 Grays In Road, London WC1,
Time: 9 till late,
Admission: £6.00 B4 10-30pm, £8.00 after.
Kissy Music will be filming the dancers all night, and  Shawn will be on at 11.30pm to perform 'Wild Wild Woman', just after the Cathouse Creepers, who are headlining the night.

'Deadly Desires' Website Update

The website for Deadly Desires, the movie Shawn has written the soundtrack for, has undergone a major update. It's now all flash and looking really brilliant. It is still under construction but growing fast. Kimberley Amato, who has written the script and is the main brain behind the project, is doing a really great job and Shawn is looking forward to seeing the film in the end. Virginia Creepers Club

Shawn is scheduled to appear at the Virginia Creepers Club , Islington, London on 6th November for a forthcoming video shoot capturing the very feel and essence of the 50's Rock'n'Roll era. He will be performing one song and will be appearing after the Cathouse Creepers, a Rockabilly band who have just recently supported the Stray Cats in UK. Kissy Music ares preparing the release of I Travelled Along and Anna Maria, double A-side, for the US/Canada market. It will be available online as MP3 downloads only. The release is to co-incide with the release of Wild Wild Woman in UK/Europe, which has been slightly delayed to the beginning of October because of this. This is an exciting decision for Shawn, who has always wanted to target the US Country market with his more traditional material. On 25th july Shawn has just filmed the new video to accompany the single and it was a brilliant day , thanks to all the crew Rick, Alyn, Sylvia, Peter, Silke and most of all Valeria Dragova  , our "wild woman" who is an extremely talented dancer, actress and model! She has been featured in many magazines Maxim, Kerrang, to name a few. We got on very well and it was a lovely day for all of us to remember! 'Wild Wild Woman' At Cannes Film Festival

The Single has been previewed at Cannes film festival and has been very well received at several parties and by DJ's. It was given play througout the festival and even gained good comments from some very well known film stars! Shawn was extremely thrilled about this and it is a good indication for the release late this summer of the single. Plans are underway for some top end promotion of the song throug magazines, radio and the new video.

'Deadly Desires', A Movie By Kimberly Amato

Shawn is delighted to have been asked to write the main theme for an American movie. 'Deadly Desires' is a complex psychological thriller written by Kimberly Amato, and directed by Beverly Orozco, the title theme called "Deception" is currently at the site: www.kaeta.com  and it is going to be a very exciting thing indeed for Shawn's songwriting talents, with a catch "be carefull what you wish for"...the film is sure to be an amazing movie indeed, for those of you who like thrillers with a twist this is defintely a site to check out!! Good news is that Shawn has filmed a new video for "Anna Marie" a good Rock 'n' Roll number that really has a great feel. Marty Wilde In Concert

On Sunday, 7th September, Shawn went to see Marty Wilde, Britain's biggest Rock'n'Roller from the 50's, at the Westcliff Theatre in Clacton-on-Sea. Shawn has been a fan for many years and it was his first time seeing Marty live in concert. Marty put on a brilliant show, full of energy and fun, and his band the Wildcats were great, too. Shawn was really pleased to meet Marty after the gig and have a photo taken. Marty is a lovely guy who has got lots of time for his fans and is really friendly. Showcase TV

Shawn has been selected to be filmed for ShowCase TV on Sky later this year. It's a medium for unsigned artists to show theirselves to the public and it will be great fun to be back in a studio. Filming dates are yet to be arranged, so keep looking in for more news.

'Wild Wild Woman' To Be Featured On Compilation CD

Great news...Chromium Records from Liverpool have chosen 'Wild Wild Woman' to be on their latest compilation CD 'Industry Standard'. It will be for sale in selected shops as well as from their website. It will be used to showcase 20 unsigned artists to the industry majors. There will also be a showcase near Liverpool, dates to be confirmed. Stay tuned to find out the latest developments.

The Latest From The Gig At The Ginglik Club

It was a brilliant night, the club was packed and there was a great atmosphere. The evening went without a hitch, all the acts were first class and the audience enjoyed themselves as much as Shawn and the other performers did.  Shawn gave an electric performance! (We told Rick and Alyn NOT!!! to sit on the front sofa!:)

Hi, what a brilliant night it was at Madame JoJo's last Wednesday! Shawn did a great job and was just as well received as when he appeared for the first time two years ago! Urgent Popshow Update

It has just been confirmed today that shawn will be appearing at Popshow again on Wednesday, 13th August 2003. This was a last minute invitation and shawn is onl;y too pleased to perform again at the venue where he had such a great response two years ago. It is Popshow's 2nd birthday bash and the show is going from strength to strength. Since it's small beginnings it has moved to a bigger venue at Madame Jo Jo's, Brewer St., Soho, London. It has gained a reputation for being THE place to be for unsigned acts and A&R alike. Shawn will perform next to well known acts such as Gina G as well as other unsigned artists in front of a music industry audience. The BBC will be there as well to film for a documentary. Shawn will also be included on the latest Popshow compilation CD and the 150 people on the door on wednesday will receive a copy. The doors open at 8pm, and there'll be a full evening's entertainment of live acts, breakdancing and Dj's till 1pm. Tickets on the door are £8, £6 students. Shawn has just been filmed for NO BLING, a TV showcase for unsigned acts. It will be screened on BEN TV, sky channel 238, Wednesday, 13th August 2003, 9pm and Friday, 15th August 2003, 11.30pm. Talent Showcase Coming Up

A few weeks back Shawn was lucky enough to be able to talk to shania via a webchat on the totp's site,He asked her any advice for up and coming songwriters and this was her reply: Shawn: You always have great lyrics. Do you have any advice for upcoming singer/songwriters? Shania: Try to be as original as possible because when I'm writing songs I try and stop listening to everything else. I don't want to know what other people are doing or what's on the radio because it influences me too much, it influences everyone. So I isolate myself and then I end up with something original. That's the way you will stand out. It's all in the way you put it together. There are only so many chords so there will be times when something sounds similar but it's all in the way you put it together. Our job is try and get it across in our own unique way. Another number one for Shawn, this time in Switzerland a little late as its his seasonal offering "Rock 'n' Rollin Xmas" but he's pleased and very happy!! Shawn's over the moon today as he has no less than 21 hits currently on besonic in the mp3 charts with 20 of them being top 40 hits..11 top 30 and 4 top 20 with a number 2 with "Rock n Rollin Xmas" and a global hit of no.66 with the same song...maybe a Christmas no.1...have to wait and see!!!

Encephalitis

Well this year was a difficult year for shawn as in january he caught a virus causing encephalitis...this causes the brain to swell leading in most cases to coma and death , since he has had a lot of support from the 'Encephalitis Support Group'. It is relatively common and kills 90% of people that contract it...thankfully Shawn is gradually coping with some of the diseases effects and wholeheartedly thanks the group, namely Ava for all her help...please help support this group and spread the word of the devastation that this illness can cause to both the victims and their families due to bereavment of their loved ones.

New Album 'Mr. Rock'n'Roll'

In between all this recent stuff  Shawn has been recording yet more material and has now another 16 track album of great modern day Rock 'n' Roll songs...'She Won't Cry' ,'I Got You And A Mercedes Car', 'Two Hearts', 'Animal Attraction', 'Cyberstruck On You', 'Turkish Sundance' and 'Big Wheels' are just some of the great songs on the album.

Holland November 2nd 2002

It was a huge success over in Holland for 'The Explosion Rockets' fanclub evening!! Shawn stayed with Ruud (the lead singer) for a week and great fun was had on the night in front of a capacity 350 crowd...Ruud and Shawn did two duets 'Lawdy Miss Clawdy' and 'Johnny B Goode' and the audience Rock'n'Rolled!

Shawn's New Friend

Ruud And Shawn

Shawn has just been to meet his Rock'n'Roll singer friend Ruud Kuijpers from Holland. Ruud, his wife Miranda, Shawn and Silke all met up in Eastbourne for a short break and had 4 great days together (despite the galeforce winds!!!). They started getting some ideas together for Shawn's guest appearance in November at the Explosion Rockets' fan convention, and the two were practising in the back of the band wagon, true Rockabilly style!

Shawn's Guests

Shawn has had a busy time with his mum in law Helga and friend Peter from Germany who came over to UK to stay and they have been nipping around Cornwall. Amongst their trips Shawn had some pics taken by James Bond's famous Aston Martin db6 driven by Sean Connery, a really  nice break.

Some More Songs In The Pipeline

Busy busy busy...some more songs are currently being worked on for yet another album. Tracks so far are 'Vanessa Come Back Baby', 'Tear It To Bits' and 'Can't Wait Till Monday' , a John Lennon type ballad. Also Shawn is working on a Blues album, so shortly another album for you all. New Photo Shoot 15/05/02

Shawn has just today finished a photo shoot for his new album 'Haystack Life'. It'll feature new songs and some old and also as a bonus Shawn's very first ever song he recorded in 1995 with his group 'The Flat Top Cats', featuring Little Lena on bass and Swingin' Chuck on drums. The new album is very much Country orientated as Shawn is aiming to target the USA. Shawn has a very Dwight Yoakam look on this new shoot...we hope you like it.

Brett Service

Brett has been a friend of Shawn for a while now. He is a singer/songwriter and now you can find a page on him here . There is a possible song writing collabaration in the pipeline and Brett is working on one of Shawn's songs at the moment Any news and we'll keep you posted.

Explosion Rockets

Shawn's got some really good news in that he has made another musical friend in Holland. His name is Ruud and he is the lead singer of a brilliant Rock 'n' Roll band called 'The Explosion Rockets'. Ruud has invited Shawn for their Fan Club meeting show on November 2nd 2002 in Dongen, Netherlands. He has also put a whole page about Shawn on his site. New Album

Shawn has just finished recording his new album 'Modern Day Rock'n'Roll Star'. He has teamed up with his friend and co-writer Jamie Murray on the title track and another called '24 Woman'. Another song on the album Little Katiuska is dedicated to Shawn's good friend Katiuska HanoHano, and some modern day good ole fashioned Rock'n'Roll like 'I Got A Woman' and the Rockabilly Betty Page.

Another No.1

Another No1 for Shawn on Besonic! His song 'The River Runs Dry' has entered the Canadian Country and Folk charts straight at No1! This is a first and Shawn is really pleased about this achievement!

Channel 4 TV

Brilliant news! Shawn has just been filmed by Channel 4 TV for a new series due out in September called "Thank You For The Music". A 7 strong crew came down to Cornwall for 2 days and filmed a documentary and a live performance for the new talent show which is a public phone in for the best artist. It was a lovely time and filming went brilliantly and everyone enjoyed themselves very much. We'll let you know as soon as we know the screening dates, so you can be ready on the phone to vote for Shawn and Electro Retro!

New Songs Recorded

Shawn has just finished recording some new songs. He has also started co-writing with his friend Jamie Murray, who has contributed the lyrics to the songs '24 Woman' and 'Modern Day Rock'n'Roll Star'. The songs will be uploaded to Besonic shortly for you to have a listen.

Shawn And Andy

Andy Carmichael is the producer of 'Wild Wild Woman', '2151' and 'Don't Leave Me Baby' at Monroe Studios, London. A big thank you  for his invaluable input and advise. Together, Shawn and him  have created the new improved Electro Retro sound which is starting to get Shawn noticed. Thank you, Andy!

No.1 On 'Besonic'

Shawn's song 'For What You Believe' has been No.1 in the Austrian country charts on Besonic.com. You can listen to it on Shawn's site at www.besonic.com/shawnharvey.

Shawn has been in the charts on RockabillyMp3.com  for several weeks now. His old song "Baby Baby" recorded as Ricky Fentone, has been holding steady at no.40 since the beginning of the year now. On the site there are also some more Ricky Fentone tracks featured in the artist section.

Burbs Winner

Shawn has just won the weekly "Soundroom" competition on www.burbs.co.uk  with his song Transponder Rock from the "2151" album! A big thank you to all of you who voted for him! Shawn is now listed as a premium artist on the site, which entitles him to be included in future Burbs CD compilations and also Burbs radio play. Keep your fingers crossed that his song will be included soon. We'll let you know if it does!

Boppin' Around

Shawn's 'Teasarama' album has been reviewed in the Dutch Rockabilly magazine 'Boppin' Around'. It's a nice feature, likeing Shawn to Dave Edmunds, a great honour, as he is one of Shawn's alltime favorites. They would also like to see Shawn live with a real band over there, so it's all good news, and, who knows, that might one day soon become reality. A big thanks to the guys at Boppin' Around.

Music Industry Consultant

Shawn has now got a music industry consultant who will be pushing his stuff to producers, A&R, managements and agents, so more good news here. One man to contact he has in mind is Micky Most, a well know producer from the 70's and overall he has a lot of faith in Shawn's music and career prospects, wanting to approach the big players of the music world.

Demo Finished

Shawn has just finished his 3 track demo in London, and the last song 2151 came great, it's our personal favorite! Now it's time to get some cd's pressed and sent off to the A&R, so things are starting to happen.

Katuiska Hanohano

Shawn's met a great USA singer and has become very good friends with her. Her name is Katiuska Hanohano, and appart from having a lovely personality, she has got a beautiful voice, too! You can visit her at www.katiuska.net  . Shawn has written a song specially for her called "My Little Katiuska" and you can hear it on her site. Katiuska will be spending a lot of time in Europe next year, and Shawn is looking forward to meeting her. A video and a possible song collaboration are planned, and also a joined appearance at Popshow. We'll keep you updated on any projects. Shawn can't wait to show her around his native Cornwall and share some good ole English Fish and Chips!

Popshow Cancelled

The Popshow date on November 7th has been cancelled. There are delays in Shawn's recording schedule and his new song won't be finished on time. As the studio Monroes are inviting A&R to promote Shawn's 3 track demo, Shawn decided to delay his appearance. A new date has yet to be fixed, but it will be January now, as the Millenium Club is shut to the public all throughout December for the usual Xmas do's. As soon as a new date has been confirmed, we'll let you know.

Blue Whale Show Date

Shawn's been to Manchester and has recorded his part on the Blue Whale Show. The series is running every Friday night on the Mens And Motors channel on Sky, and Shawn's episode is due to be screened on Friday, 23rd November 2001. When he got there, Shawn found that it was a fun show for adults with a Benny Hill type humour and a topless mermaid in the studio! Needless to say, he enjoyed himself immensely. Him, his mum and dad and wife Silke all sat in the audience for a couple of shows and James Whale interviewed Silke, Arthur and Yvonne before Shawn's slot. It was a great laugh. On top of a already hillarious day, Shawn and his dad were asked to be filmed for another show that day, giving their verdict on female bras! If any of you get SKY and ever see this short clip of film, it definitely is a classic! Shawn is already looking forward to seeing the finished result on telly, as it is always completely different on the other side of the cameras and everything looks totally different until the cutting room has had a go. Altogether a brilliant couple of days and a lovely warm welcome from the folks in Manchester.

New Popshow Date

Due to popular demand, Shawn has been asked back onto Popshow. The new date is Wednesday, 7th November 2001, and Shawn is already looking forward to meeting old friends and making new ones. As before, the venue is at the Millenium Club, Drury Lane, Covent Garden, London, and tickets are £5, available from the club direct and on the night. Everyone is welcome. Bring along your friends and if you know of any record industry contacts, let them know. Once again, all A&R is invited and most welcome to have a look.

New Studio Date

At the same time as doing Popshow, Shawn will be going back to the studio to finally finish off his demo single with Monroe Productions. Once finished, he will start a serious advertising campaign to all the record companies and also night clubs, DJ's and radio.

James Whale Show

Great news! Shawn has been invited to appear on the new series of the James Whale Show for Granada TV. He's going to Manchester on Thursday, 6th September to record his part. As soon as we know the dates for broadcast we'll let you know. Needless to say that he is looking forward immensly to this great opportunity and it has come just in time as a belated birthday present!

Hi There

Hi, it's a while since this site has been updated, but things have been really busy this month. Shawn went to Popshow in London, and what a success it was! It was great night, an electric atmosphere and Shawn was the highlight of the evening. Being entry no.8, he was near the end and he brought the club to a boil with his ecxiting performance. The club owners have already asked him back, so once some dates have been sorted out, we'll let you know. Shawn's also been back to the studio by now and has started on his third demo track with Andy at Monroe Productions. After a long time pondering on the best track to chose from his Cyberoxin album, it turned out that they chose none of it. Instead,Shawn went with a brand new number called '2151'. It's a powerful spaceballad and it has been spiced up in the studio into a great rock track. It's from a brand new forthcoming album that Shawn has recorded just recently at home called '2151'. It's 12 tracks all about space and the future and some great tracks are on it, but everyone agreed th 2151 is an awsome track with a haunting melody. As soon as the three tracks are done now shortly, it'll be all out promotion and trying to get through to the record companies. We'll keep you posted.

Stairway To The Stars

Well folks, the show has come and gone, and it was a lovely day and a great night for everyone. First of all congratulations to all the contestants on the night. They all did extremely well and to have taken part in the show is a credit to all of them. Shawn did a great performance, so energetic and lively! Sadly, he didn't get through to the semis though. He was the only original act there amongst cabaret and cover acts and it was just not the right type of act that was wanted for this kind of thing. Nevertheless, the judges were very impressed and predicted that Shawn has a great future in the music industry as a songwriter, producer and performer. And boy, did they like his legs moving on stage! Anyway, it was a great night!

Taunton TV

On Friday, 27th July, Shawn appeared at short notice on the Chris Young Show on Taunton TV. He performed 'Wild Wild Woman' and 'Don't Leave Me Baby' and also did a lengthy interview. Many thanks to Chris for giving Shawn this opportunity and for making him feel so welcome. It was a great show, and Shawn enjoyed himself thouroughly. Chris had plugged Shawn's songs and photo over the air for the last week, and some girlies even phoned in. When Shawn walked down the town centre in Taunton that day, he was nearly mobbed by a bunch of girls who had seen him on telly all week! It was a great day, the sun was belting it out, and although Shawn nearly died of heat exhaustion and dehydration in his space rocker costume and massive glam boots, not to mention the huge blisters on his feet from sweating so much in his boots, it was a great day to be remembered for a very long time!

Stairway To The Stars

Shawn will be appearing at the 'Stairway To The Stars' talent show at the Torquay Riviera Centre, Devon, on Sunday 29th July. The show will start at 20:00 and tickets are available at £4.95 each from the Riviera Centre box office direct. Shawn will perform two brand new songs that he has just finished recording in London in front of an industry panel of judges. TV and media will be present on the night. Anyone wishing to come along, including A&R and record industry, are most welcome.

Popshow

On Saturday, 14th July, Shawn went to an audition at the famous Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden, London. He performed in front of A&R who are scouting for new talent to appear at a brand new showcase venue. He was successful and will appear at the new Millenium Club in Covent Garden in front of the A&R of the London record industry. The date is Wednesday, 8th August. The address is Millenium Club, 167 Drury Lane, London WC2, next to "Cats" theatre, near Covent Garden tube. The club is open between 8pm and 2am, and Shawn will be singing his 2 latest songs Wild Wild Woman and Don't Leave Me baby between approx. 9pm -10.30pm. Tickets are £5 and available directly from the club. Everyone is welcome to pop alng, A&R and any interested industry people, Shawn is looking forward to meeting you all.

Search For A Star

Yet another talent show! On Friday, 17th August, Shawn will appear at the 'Search For A Star' talent show at Brean Sands Leisure Park (Pontins near Weston-Super-Mare). The show will start at 21:00. For more info please contact Brean Sands Leisure Park direct. There'll be music industry present as well as local radio and press. The winner of this competition will be entered into the national finals for the holiday camp entertainer of the year.

Studio

Shawn has just been back in the studio finishing his second track of the professional demo he is recording at Monroe Productions in Islington, London at the moment. It is coming on great. Shawn and his producer Andy Carmichael are coming up with a completely new sound. Shawn has called it 'Electro Retro' as it takes a lot from his deep roots in Rock'n'Roll and R&B and mixes it with modern dance and club beats and sounds. It's a great mix and it works. Everyone who has heard it so far has absolutely loved it! Once three songs are in the can, Monroes will send Shawn for a professional photo shoot and then will package the whole thing and approach their contacts in the record industry in London to try to get a deal for Shawn. Things are looking really exciting right now, and if you can manage somehow, it is really worth to go and see Shawn at the above giggs. You'll be able to say you were one of the first ones to have seen and heard this exciting brand new stuff!

Radio

Shawn's songs, old and new, will be played regularly on new Falmouth Radio CKFM107, on FM107. If you live in Cornwall and manage to tune in, this is your chance to hear more of Shawn. There might be the possibility of a future live interview, but as the station is still young, nothing has been confirmed yet in this department. We'll keep you posted!
